Day five – was busy and fantastic all in one.  We began the morning touring the USS Midway.  Walking through the aircraft carrier and thinking of the history and sacrifice was absolutely humbling.  After lunch the choir spent a few hours rehearsing.  Tonight was the concert with the San Diego Symphony and it was incredible!  The choir was both prepared and focused.  So proud of each youth and their hard work all year long learning the music.  The expressions on their faces during the concert was priceless.  Tonight was truly a Defining Moment in their lives.

Thank you to the parents, church members, and sponsors for your support and prayers.  A few more days before we’re home.  Keep praying for us.

Great day of singing at La Jolla Presbyterian Church this morning!  The kids sounds great.  We also hit the beach.  Surprisingly enough, most of the kids jumped into the cold Pacific water and loved every second of it.

Our theme this week is Defining Moments-decisions that change the course of your life and the last two days have provided some moments.  The kids did a great job today working with City of Refuge.  COR is a ministry to the low-income and homeless in downtown San Diego.  We set up at a local elementary school, had an outdoor worship concert led by COR, and then handed out food to over 175 people.  One of the comments from our youth was “I know these people don’t have much but they still praised the Lord.” They also began their rehearsals for the youth choir festival and they sound awesome!  So proud of the work these kids have put into preparation for this.

Everyone, kids and sponsors, will return to home with a California tan.  Let’s just say, Aloe Vera gel was used extensively tonight.  Thank you for your prayers and support.  Keep checking back for updates.

We had a great day Friday starting off with VBS with the kids at the Christian Fellowship of El Cajon and ending with a San Diego Padres game!

This morning we are at the Christian Fellowship of El Cajon doing our first mission project. We have had a great morning so far holding a VBS for the kids.

Tonight, after a scenic drive around the Point Loma area, we found Nati’s Mexican Restaurant. Voted best Mexican food 3 years in a row.

Landed safe and sound in San Diego with all of our luggage. Everyone checking their phones!
